A WinAMillionMiles.com winner - sort of

My wife was notified that she won a 1000 mile prize from WinAMillionMiles.com. The only problem is that the require more paperwork than the miles are worth. Here is the email comminication that followed (I don't have access to the original prize notification now, I'll post it later):

To WinANilllionMiles:

I'd be happy to accept the 1000 mile prize. But if you think I'm going to
bother reading your long legal disclaimers, visiting and paying a notary
public, sending a photo, and paying for a long distance call for $10-$20
worth of miles, you need to think again. These requirements would only be
appropriate for a much larger prize. Please let me know if there is any way
you can deliver the promised prize under more reasonable terms. Thanks.

Their response:

In response to your email below, we completely understand. We have asked
legal to check to see if there is a simplier way to award prizes in the
future.

We hope you will continue on as a member of WinAMillionMiles to qualify for
some of our larger prizes.

Well, at least it seems that whoever you talked to was reasonable. That is alot for 1000 miles. Hope you get your points

Dhacker, that is ridiculous that you would have to go through that for 1k miles! No other way to describe it.
If they advise you of a change, post it for our info.

Thanks!

I agree they sound reasonable -- but perhaps only for future winners.

Here is the origianl notification:

Attached is a release form that needs to be notarized and signed. Please fax it to 626-xxx-xxxx. Also, please email a face photo for the winner's page.

I'll spare you from reading the attached release. It was full of legal mumbo jumbo.
