Hey! I just got my miles!

They weren't kidding about "Qualification for AAdvantage miles may include contact by a MyReceivables.com representative. By requesting participation in the AAdvantage miles program, you authorize MyReceivables.com to contact you and/or your employer." My company got 2! calls from them soliciting their services. My supervisor asked me about giving out the company information http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif. It seems they gave my name when asked who referred.

I explained I didn't realize it would be a problem. I only caught a little lip, turns out he collects miles too http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif!

Small price to pay for 500 miles! Thanks again

Thanks for the tip....

After three weeks, I just received the following:
(note the creative spelling of "appriciate"...)
-------------------
"Dear Applicant,
We appriciate your interest in the MyReceivables.com FREE Ezine. After an extensive review of the information you provided, and/or our inquiries into your business, we regret to inform you that your business does not qualify for our AAdvatage miles program.
Although your company does not meet our qualification criterion, you will be receiving our FREE Ezine at its' next publication. We know it will help you make better, more informed decisions, as well as provide you with a wealth of information for expanding and growing your business.
Thank you again for choosing MyReceivables.com.
Al Alper
MyReceivables.com
a member of The CDS Group"
--------------------------

I already mentioned this in another thread, and I know there were warnings in the application that the miles were "pending qualification," but still...

They never even contacted me...

Feels like a bait-and-switch to me...

What a freakin sham!!! This outfit has used the information provided as potential leads and returned NOTHING. They originally offered the miles just for signing-up with no "business qualification" language. They changed that and then further added that they may contact your firm. Perhaps a letter to the BBB is in order.

I re-read the original e-mail I got on 3-25. Here it is:
A voucher for 500 earned AAdvantage miles is **on the way** (if you completed the form) via standard mail. We`ve partnered with American Airlines, the world`s leading airline to provide you this great benefit as a subscriber to our FREE E-Zine. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery.
**(Earned AAdvantage miles are subject to qualified businesses).**
MY STARS FOR EMPHASIS. THERE IT IS, BUT WHICH? IS IT ON THE WAY, OR MUST WE **QUALIFY?**
Let's just say I barely wanted it in the first place (just fork over the miles, please) but now I don't want their ****ed ezine AT ALL anymore! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I just re-sent them their original confirmation email from January where they said the miles were on the way, with no additional restrictions. We'll see if that works. If not, hopefully AAdvantage will intervene. If this company dangles miles, collects information, and then refuses to give the miles as promised, it certainly can't look good for AAdvantage.

I think myReceivable is getting a bit "too nosy" about company private info. After I replyed to the original email from Kathleen Pomarico, I got *another* email asking the following:

What are your average monthly receivables:
What is your average annual total receivables:
How did you hear about us, specify referring URL or magazine, or person: http://www.myreceivables.com/fs_ar.htm
Is it really worth it to tell them so much about your company when none of us have even seen the 500 AA miles? To me, the answer was clearly a "no" So I told them that I am no longer interested..... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I wrote to AAdvantage, sent them copies of the two versions of the confirmation email, and requested them to lean on myreceivables. The next day, miles were posted to my account.

Just curious - - did these miles post to your AA account ss "MyReceviables" or as generic bonus points?

UserMark Jun 5, 2001 6:29 pm

It posted as "AAIM MILEAGE CREDIT", but I asked them to make a note that it was for myreceivables. It may actually say something different on the paper statement.

I actually received the AA mileage voucher from myreceivables and sent it in. It posted as "Aadvantage--Myreceivables.com"

DebBrown Jun 6, 2001 10:17 am

sim, that must have been some sort of miracle!

I just emailed Myreceivables to ask why I didn't receive the ezine or the miles. They replied: "you have not qualified for our AA miles program". I don't know what the requirements are but I thought their site was directed at small business. You'd think being the owner/president of an Illinois corporation would be enough!

sim Jun 8, 2001 1:03 pm

DebBrown - I have not seen the e-zine newsletter. I received an email from them saying contact us if we can be of help with your receivables, other than that I have not heard from them. It was a pretty easy 500 miles sorry everyone else is having such a hard time.

cactuspete Jun 15, 2001 10:57 am

UPDATE: No 500 AA miles, despite registering twice (2nd time was at thr request of MyReceivables to re-register). Sent e-mail to MyReceivables.com stating that I had been in contact with AA about their failure to follow through. Quick response from [email protected]. I forwarded a copy of the re-registration request and today, one wekk after my initial e-mail, I received the AA 500-mile cert. Cover letter was from The CDS Group, 303 Merrick Road, Lynbrook, NY 11563. Tel 516/379-1053; fax 516/546-3820.

I wrote to AAdvantage customer service asking them to follow-up on my missing myreceivables.com miles. I inadvertantly sent the message twice. That was fortunate because the next day I received to nearly identical form letter responses for two different AA CS reps. The first response basically said its not their problem. I responded to it seconds before the 2nd response arrived. The only difference was the following added paragraph:

"As a gesture of goodwill, I have posted a Customer Service bonus of 500
miles to your AAdvantage account. We sincerely hope that this will help
offset some of your dissatisfaction."

The miles posted today as bonus miles and "AAIM MILEAGE CREDIT". I hope they count it as a 20/20 partner!

Here is the complete response:

" Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

Thank you for visiting the American Airlines Web site and for your
recent e-mail to AAdvantage Customer Service. I appreciate the
opportunity to assist you.

We appreciate your letting us know about the difficulty you encountered
with one of our AAdvantage participants. I am sorry that you were
disappointed with MyReceivables.com when you used its services. It is
good for us to hear about any issues related to the AAdvantage program,
especially when our customers' expectations are not met.

We strive to provide our members with the finest frequent flyer program
in the industry, and letters such as yours help us to monitor our
efforts in meeting that objective. It is in everyone's best interest
that the companies that participate in the AAdvantage program meet the
high standards that customers have come to expect from American
Airlines. Still, we do not resolve individual service issues on behalf
of AAdvantage participants. Please understand American Airlines is not

As a gesture of goodwill, I have posted a Customer Service bonus of 500
miles to your AAdvantage account. We sincerely hope that this will help
offset some of your dissatisfaction.

Moreover, we have every expectation that your future experiences with
the companies that participate in the AAdvantage program will be more
satisfactory. Thank you for your continued patronage.

Again, thank you for giving me the opportunity to respond. I look
forward to assisting you again in the future.

Regards,

xxxxxxx xxxx
