Igougo.com: Missing Journals?
I logged into Igougo.com today to add a new entry to an existing journal, and I noticed that some of my existing entries have been deleted. Has anyone else lost any of their previous journals for whatever reason? I can locate 3 or 4 entries that are gone, even if other parts of the journal are still there.
Two of the deleted entries were less-than-rosy reviews of HHonors properties. I wonder if the chains pay Igougo to filter out certain entries...or perhaps I'm just drifting off into conspiracy-land... Anyway, it's annoying to lose the things after spending quite a bit of time entering them in.

I received a personal note from the President of IGoUGo informing me of a recent system failure that resulted in some journals being lost. I lost a couple of them too. But they are depositing some points in there as an apology/consolation.

They were updating their software and wiped out a number of journals (3 of mine!!) I do not know what, if any pattern the missing journals, but do believe they were an accident. I am very frustrated, even with the points they say they are going to 'give me' for the inconvenience. I received an e-mail about it this afternoon -- do tell if you hear anything.

Yes, I got three journals zapped, and also lost many ratings on seven other journals. I am guessing that everything from a certain date- posted journals and ratings- were lost. It IS very fustrating, my journals tend to be rather long, almost all have pictures and it takes hours to post a journal AFTER I get it finished in a word processing program. Anyone out there know of another site similar to IgoUgo??

This happened to me months ago when I was creating my first journal. I wrote it 5-6 times, only to have IGOUGO crash when I hit submit. Being inexperienced, I thought it was something I was doing wrong.
I sent an e-mail about it, and received back an apology, explanation they were having trouble on their end, and some points. As you've all mentioned, those points seem small consolation for the lost time and effort. Many of us take a great deal of care to make our entries interesting and informative.

Natalie started a new post, but no IGOUGO referral, so has confused some people. THought I would put a link here

I have rewritten a couple others I have come across at this point with 'new' ones are:
MarkR37 (Mark Richmond)
Hermion (Hermion)
Those are the only two (other than me) that I have found with 'new ones' posted. If you have submitted a new one please forgive -- I just haven't come across it yet.

Natalie is not computer literate, please excuse. Fortunately the others are smarter enought to pick up what I meant to say or do. So sorry all.

I too received a very sincere apology (but a canned notice, for sure). Lost one journal and got 2,500 points as compensation. I think they are being truly generous since we didn't pay a real cent for anything. On a side note, I have yet to receive a reward that I redeemed more than 3 weeks ago.
