I am close to 12k points on greenpoints and I have started to wonder if its time to cash in. I am thinking about cashing in for 4x500 Delta mile certificates or the Discount Travel & Dining Directory - 1-Yr wich I happen to see today. Is this book with all kinds of certificates any good for me who are based in Europe?
Personally, I cash in my Greenpoints every time I reach 2500 and get a DL 500 mile certificate. With all of the shake-outs recently among the dot coms, I am reluctant to accumulate large numbers of points in any of them. I suppose that if you are building toward some big-point award, you can stay with it. But I don't see any advantage in waiting if you are looking for DL miles.

I subscribe to JerryFF's theory. Also, my experience has been that when redeeming GPs for 1 or 2 DL certs, the certs arrive within 7-10 days, but when redeeming for 4 or more certs, the process takes up to 30 days.
Remember those that waited too long to get their AA coupons are now out of luck. If you want DL coupons, do it now.
I have 55,000+ greenpoints, I want miles on US or UA. Should I grab the AS miles even though AS is nowhere near me (for AA upgrades) or grab DL miles (Can I use these for UA upgrade?) Anyone 10,00 US/UA miles and want DL/AS?

I received my 500-mile AA cert in less than 4 weeks. The DL 500-mile certs arrive in abot 10 days from date of redemption.Originally posted by freakflyer:

Markbach, JerryFF is correct that you cannot use DL mile to upgrade on UA. However, you can redeem DL points for other UA awards such as free Y, C or F tickets. So 55K+ greenpoints will net you either 2 Y RT's or one C RT. Originally posted by markbach:

BTW, having just flown a DL BizElite transcon (PDX-JFK) I can vouch for their superior service compared to UA's transcon C class.

http://www.greenpoints.com is running fine at 3:41 PM EDT.
Kempis:
I would cash the Greenpoints - you never know. However, I am not sure if they send you the vouchers etc. to Sweden.

55K greenpoints will net you 11K Delta miles, not enough for a RT.Originally posted by essxjay:

Probably better to cash them in once you reach an award level. I've seen lots of bonus buying promotions (ie. 20pts per $ spent instead of 10pts), but I don't think I've ever seen redemption bonuses.
