Greenpoints....

has anyone noticed that Greenpoints has increased their company sponsors but have virtually quit having the surveys to gain points? Another problem I have with them is their website is so slow that Grandma can out walk the speed of their site!

And they are lousy with a capital LOUSY at posting points from my experience. Three purchases, three emails to get the points. They make clickrewards look efficient!

Criticize them as much as you want. I just had 13,500 deposited into my AA account. The one from Healthy Choice is still pending. those points were gotten for joining, taking surveys, bvying gift certs from Sparks, etc.I'm happy.

Greenpoints is still doing surveys, but it appears they are sending them out by email. You need to change your registration so that you receive email notices of their surveys. I just did one this week and got 1000 points.

Greenpoints is all to the good if you play it properly. You can buy something from Outpost.com, get your points and return it. If anything, you just pay $10 or so for Airborne shipping. That is a small price to pay for a grip of miles. If you order from Outpost.com, it is best that you order enough to make paying for the return worth dipping into your wallet. Don't forget that overnight shipping is free at Outpost.com

Sorry to disappoint you, milesforyourmama, but when you return at item purchased through Greenpoints, the points are subtracted from your total.

I ordered computer speakers from Outpost which I returned because they were defective. The points were subtracted from my Greenpoints total about three weeks later.

Since I've registered with Greenpoints (6 months?) I've seen the number of their company sponsors fluctuate in both directions. Their surveys have always been erratic. When survey alerts have been posted on FT, some members were getting them, others were not. Having said that, it seems to me I haven't got one in five or six weeks.

JerryFF:
Could you be more specific about "changing" your registration?

After you log on to Greenpoints, go to the section called Personalize My Account. There is a question "Would you like to be notified by email of any special promotions?" Make sure you answer YES.

This was brought up once before and raffy provided similar advice. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/000101.html

Seems to depend on the merchant too. Borders and Crucial posted greenpoints within 3 business days. Buy.Com, in sad contrast, is taking forever. I am in the midst of email and fax exchanges with greenpoints cust service to try to get the points posted. It goes all the way back to June 14 (sigh), and involves multiple purchases worth almost 200k points. Bought a few things from Outpost last week; hope they post faster.
Is anybody else frustrated by greenpoints posting delays?

The deal is too good to miss - but they are making you earn those miles! The points take forever to post, about 50,000 points just deducted from my Husband's account has left him in the negative (they are insisting it is because he spent too much, how could he done that?!) the American vouchers take forever to arrive, and then forever to post to AA account. I think I know all the reps by name - jackie, fabershe, daniel, Kenneth, julio (and I think they know me too by now). I have not lost my temper yet as I have emailed, re-emailed and emailed my confirmations yet again!
This is pretty much it - I did get some solid Delta miles (even though I do not fly that airline, but the vouchers were coming faster). But I don't think I have the patience to be on the phone with them an hour every week. back to clickrewards!

It is not necessarily Greenpoints' fault for slow posting of points earned by shopping. Most likely they use LinkShare as their "go-between", and from what I've seen on my work and personal sites, they can really hold things up. I just did a report on our LinkShare transactions, and they have been averaging over 20 days to credit sales generated by sites.

An infrequent flyer trying to change that by earning my miles via alternate methods!

So far, had good experince with greenpoints. I like the surveys (when they have them). Got the points posted fast on the one purchase I made, and got the AA certificates fairly quickly (just got them today - so do not know how long it will take to post).
