Uses for Verizon points?

I did a site-wide search but did not see anything about this.

Until I recently switched to Verizon, I had never heard of Verizon points. Now I seem to have 82000 of them.

Any decent use? Thanks.

Aren't they redeemable for gift cards?

Yes. Or maybe better still, for a Visa pre-paid card. That's what I did.

I have 165,000 Verizon points, and the only gift card rewards that I can see are only 10 percent discounts for various merchant cards.

If anyone can see actual Visa prepaid gift cards, I would love to get a link! Thanks!

They are junk.

Basically impossible to use. Happ I ditched Verizon and got chuckle that when I left they cleaned out all my points.

It depends whether they are VZ Wireless rewards or VZ Fios rewards.

The wireless ones are fairly useless, but the Fios ones are redeemable for Visa Prepaid cards

From what I read on some sites, there a good number of people that use botting software to win the auctions so unless you click at the right second and are lucky, they are pretty much a waste of time.

Fios rewards have better options than wireless rewards.

My wife and I have 182K points according to the last time I logged into our account.

This is apparently correct. I have VZ Fios, but not wireless, and I have redeemed my points for Visa prepaid cards.

I am sitting on 100k in wireless points and I agree they are not very useful. The best use I have found for them is for a local coupon (but many of those are limited to one or two a year) and for magazines. The magazines are slow to start but the price is right. FWIW, the one I ordered took 8 or 10 weeks to start.

I'm glad someone asked, I've been wondering too what to do with these (apparently useless) points. Maybe I'll try botting the auctions like what ktremor described, but I don't have enough points for most of the current bid amounts.

Aside from these points being useless, if you opt-in to their program, you are allowing Verizon to track your movement and data.

Check out the many articles from 2014 when they started this - that's the way I understand it.

You can opt out of the tracking -- I did -- and still get points in the program, just fewer of them per month.
