Good Luck. You will get a real operator who passes you to a voice mail and calls do not get returned (my past experience) |
MyPoints [Master Thread]--NEW
There are a number of existing threads related to different "deals" and "problems" with MyPoints. It will be too messy to try and merge them all into one thread. Therefore, we would like all new MyPoints posts to go into this thread.
Thanks for your participation & cooperation. :) Your co-mods, philemer & Seat13c |

For all those that use the coupons on mypoints, did anyone ever receive the 10 points per coupon? I've been using coupons for a few months and nothing so far.

I use the coupons for their money-saving value and I only buy things that I would buy anyway but this month I've been keeping careful track of how many I use and I intend to bring it to their attention. So far I've used 13 coupons this month (used a lot more than normal 'cause of a Super Bowl party). That should get me 130 points plus the 25 point bonus for using 10 or more = 155 points. Not huge but it beats clicking on 31 of their e-mails. I'd use the coupons just for the savings but, since points are part of the enticement, why not get them. |
how long to receive FF credit from my points
I transferred 15000 mypoints for 7500 UA FF miles. It has been more than a month since the request and mypoints emailed back they requested the transfer on 1/20 and it's out of their hands. Right now neither account shows my correct balance. How long should it take for the 7500 miles to show up in my UA account? Any experiences with this? I usually request a hotel gift card and its always been quick and easy.

Mypoints offline stores
I don't know if this is targeted, but I got an email to register for MyPoints InStore to get points from offline merchants (operated by Vesdia, the company that does AA e-shopping).
https://www.mypointsconnect.com/ Register for MyPoints In Store! It's free, it's easy, and it's a great way to earn even more Points. Here's what you do: 1. Register as many cards as you like - for free! Earn a 100 Point bonus (once) for successfully registering. 2. Check the Merchant Network for stores in your area. 3. Use your registered cards at listed merchants and Earn Points even when your laptop is closed! Register your first card today, and after a 48-hour waiting period, you can start earning Points offline! At this time we only accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. Debit cards with Visa or MasterCard logos may also be registered and used to earn Points when selecting "credit" at point of purchase. Rules and restrictions may apply. See merchant detail pages for more information. |
If you check carefully, there's ALMOST NO store chains into the "in Store" program, except for Sally Beauty Supply and Jos A. Bank (overpriced men's clothes) .
Most stores listed are specialized travel agents, cruise lines and other travel-related businesses (which may suit quite a few FT Members, but not the regular MyPoints clientéle, like me...). I'll pass until they start to include REAL store chains that are available in MY neighborhood... |

It's been over a month. Mypoints should fix this. They must have a contact at UA for such problems.
"Thank you for your e-mail. Please contact MyPoints directly at [email protected] for assistance with your request. I appreciate your taking the time to contact me. Yvonne Calotes" I replied I already did that and they said to contact UA. This was my response. "Thank you for your reply. Please allow 6-8 weeks after 30 days of membership for the bonus miles to be credited to your Mileage Plus account. I appreciate you taking the time to contact me. Mark Garalde" So what does this mean? If I requested the transfer from my points on Jan 9and they requested the miles from UA on 1/20 which date are they talking about? I don't know what the 30 days of membership means. I have been a member of both sites for years. I don't know why this is taking so long, probably because I need them and each site is blaming the other. |
UA mileage Plus
Does anyone know if both my spouse and I can redeem mypoints for UA miles to the same UA FF account? Thanks!

Once a UA Mileage Plus account is associated with any Mypoints user/account via redemption, it cannot be detached then recycled within Mypoints. |

Secondly, this is obviously a new area for MyPoints so, if it's to be successful or not, remains to be seen. Hopefully, as it expands, more stores will be added. Thirdly, some of us actually like some of the stores involved and shop there. |
Thanks!
Thanks lin821!
Was hoping we could both add miles to 1 Ual acct so we can earn a free award faster. :(

First of all you receive 100 points for simply signing up. The points load immediately (as pending) and you can simply delete any credit card that you've listed once that happens.

I was all excited today to finally reach the 11,750 available point balance level so I could redeem them for a $100 Banana Republic GC. But alas, they're no longer available. :( I swear they were there a week or so ago when my overall balance was enough but not my redeemable was not. Grr...Hopefully they'll come back. I'll try waiting. I hate not maximizing my point yield!

I just noticed a feature on MyPoints which I never recall seeing before. It is on the right side of the main bar when you log in to the home page and is listed as Daily Spin 'n Win. When you click on it, it brings up a Wheel and you can click and spin and win anywhere from 0 to 10000 points daily. You also get 5 entries for the monthly jackpot of 1,000,000 points. Am I just a dummy that never saw this before, or is this new? I got 5 points, but my wife got zero trying this for the first time.

My Points seems to be adding some new things to their menu and I think that as an overall effort that's good. |
Gave it a spin as well
I gave it a spin as well and won 100 points while my spouse got 0.

had the same thing happen to me this week the 5000 then 5100 for 2500 UAL miles dissapeared only 5o more earned but not yet redemable pts to go. I now need 10k not 5.1K for a 5K award. Seems unfair moving the finish line when you are so close. Hope the 10k award lasts long enough for me to redeem it. I now need 3400 pts more.

I've tried it pretty much every day since it started and got 5 points just once:( I think I will stop wasting time pretty soon.
|
My experience is similar to that of FlyerInCmh. I got zeros the first week and then 5 pts in 3 of the past 4 days. Since it doesn't take much longer than clicking through on an e-mail, I'll probably continue to play hoping (but not expecting) to land on one of the larger point awards before the promotion ends.

What is considered a good ratio of spending to points? My best has been the Entertainment Book, which I bought for $20 and got 1500 points. I did it several times and got several books. What was best in the deal was that there were 4 Safeway coupons for $5 each that covered the $20 cost for the book.

Same here. I went to redeem my 5100 points for 2500 United miles and....gone. I hope I can live long enough to earn the 4700 additional I now need to get United miles!!!
I wonder why. |

I don't like that Mypoints requires you to register your credit card(s) before they show you the merchant list. That makes me think its not worth the trouble.

Regarding the contest, where can I find how many entries I already have? Anyone know? |
