Videos on MyPoints

About a week or two ago, I got an email from MyPoints that contained a link to register to view video ads for points through MyPoints. I registered, and was able to watch 5 videos a day for three points each for several days. After watching the video, you had to enter two numbers that showed on the edge of the video while viewing in order to get the points. I went to a link that I thought was in the "Easy Points" section of the MyPoints website, but I can no longer find the link.
Can anyone post a link to the "video viewing" option, as it was an easy way to pick up an extra 15 MyPoints a day? Or hav they taken it out of the options? Swagbucks had similar videos available, but I haven't seen such a link through them either in the last several days, although Inbox Dollars still seems to have such a link.

Does anything show up in your browser history section? If you clicked on one link and can remember when, it may be there.

Did you get any points to actually post? I watched 45 points worth of videos and nothing as posted to my account...

Looks like this is the same company (AdGenesis) that InboxDollars uses. You get InboxDollars credit within a few minutes of watching videos there...

Oh, and the link is available on the "Free & Easy" page:

Thanks for posting the link. Hopefully the points will post. The weekly statement shows "Clickthru" without any points being credited yet, and just shows one "Clickthru" for each time I go to the videos and watch 5 videos at 3 points each. So far I am looking for 60 points on my account and 60 points for Mrs. Cornroaster, so I hope they post. I haven't had any problems with the videos crediting on either InBox Dollars or Swagbucks, so I hope these post on MyPoints as well.

Still waiting for my video points to post, but the few seconds it takes is no skin off my back. I'll give it a few weeks.

Not to get too far off topic, these are now listed under Ad Rewards in the Special Offers section of Swagbucks.

It is. Beezag is all over the place and partnering with a ton of other sites.

Received an email from MyPoints, stating that if you purchase a $75 Marriott TravelCard, you'll receive 500 points.

Yup. Too bad I'm a SPG kinda guy! :)

I'd say >50% of the emails I'm getting now are not the five points for clicking type. I'm pretty careful to avoid these. I'm not giving them advertisers' dollars if they're not sharing the love.

Has anyone received the Video Rewards points? I've received a few, but mostly they're not posting. When I look at the most recent 3 months of account history, it shows the points as pending, but (unlike most pending points), it doesn't seem as if they been added to my points total. Frustrating. tls

MyPoints Holiday Bonus Points. Earn up to 3,000 Points.

From November 1 to December 31, 2011, make a purchase from any qualified MyPoints merchant noted by the gift box icon.
For all purchases made during this promotion period, you will receive Bonus Points for the total dollars spent.
The "Holiday Bonus Points" tiers are as follows:

>> Spend $100 or more and receive 250 Bonus Points.
>> Spend $250 or more and receive an additional 500 Bonus Points.
>> Spend $500 or more and receive an additional 500 Bonus Points.
>> Spend $750 or more and receive an additional 750 Bonus Points.
>> Spend $1,000 or more and receive an additional 1,000 Bonus Points.
>> If you complete all spending thresholds, you could earn up to 3,000 Bonus Points.

Bonus Points will be awarded 30-60 days after the promotion end date — December 31, 2011.
MyPoints requires all merchant sales and returns to post before we can award Bonus Points.
A one-time holiday bonus award will be awarded 30-60 days after the promotion ends
a $1000 amex gift card will net you 4000 points, worth roughly $23 (or $21 toward a $25 paypal credit), a better return than the $15.68 you get from bigcrumbs, although you have to wait longer.

I'm missing a whole bunch of points from them too.

I signed up for this because there is a 750 mile bonus on UA just to join. I haven't gotten the bonus but have been clicking on the 5 pt emails and attempting a few surveys and getting the 10 point rejection bonus. I watched several videos but haven't gotten the points for these. It seems to be slow going unless you spend money on stuff.

It's extremeeeeeeely slow going - even after you spend money through their site.

I dunno....I guess it depends on how you define "slow". We've bought almost nothing from their shopping mall in the last few years, with the big exception being the Starbucks GC promotion they ran earlier this year ($10=500 points). Basically we just click on the five-pointers, answer the surveys, and do a very quick pass at the searchbar at the beginning of each month. Yet we've each managed to earn 5,000 United miles for each of the last two years. That might not be anything that would make a road warrior sit up and take notice, but I see it as an easy way to keep topping off the account at virtually no cost, and with minimal effort.

Tiki Dec 8, 2011 4:40 pm

I got my video rewards, though there weren't that many. Also the 750 UA miles showed up. I hope they stay with the merged airline. My Points partners with UA but CO partners with E-Rewards and E-Miles, I hope they keep all 3.

$75 Marriott Gift Card - 500 points

If you stay at Marriott, this seems like a great deal. You get 500 points for each $75 card you buy. Cards are redeemable at face value.

It may work differently now, but when I signed up for the Netflix free trial through MyPoints the points did not post until it converted to a paid membership. Something to watch out for if you don't plan on keeping this active for at least 1 month.

Even so, 3000 points is probably worth about $20-25 if you use gift certificates as a criterion for point value.

MaxPoints Plus Points Holiday Bonus.
If you complete two "Plus Points" offers this month, you'll get a 150 point bonus, in addition to the 250 points for completing two offers.

Not slow at all for me. I do the 5-poiinters for opening the e-mails, do the surveys, and book my travel through the various vendors that participate (Orbitz, Hotels.com, Priceline, etc.). I don't make any other purchases. I redeem for gift cards and can pretty reliably earn $200 in gift cards each year. I have found it to be one of the fastest earning avenues I have used.

BTW, I started doing MyPoints to earn UA miles to top up my account for an award. Turns out that UA miles is probably one of the least efficient use of your MyPoints, although it can still be worthwhile for those that need to top up an account or create activity to keep their account current. Which proves that one size does NOT fit all when it comes to anything related to FT. :)

$75 Marriott Gift Card - 500 points

I initially thought this was a good deal, too -- an easy way to earn some extra points for some credit card spending that I would do anyway (while staying at Marriott on business trips), but then I saw the terms and conditions in the confirmation e-mail (after I already bought the gift cards) and realized that I will not earn any Marriott Rewards points for any stays I pay for with the gift cards. That's a bad deal from my perspective, because I would rather earn 750 Marriott points for spending $75 (plus Elite bonus) rather than earn 500 MyPoints for the same spending.

I wonder if these are "special" gift cards as I have used gift cards to pay (or partially pay) for rooms before and always earned points. That is, they have always been treated like regular cash or credit card payments in the past. What I have lost are the points on my Marriott Rewards VISA card for the value of the gift card, and that is a good point that I had not thought about.

I can't remember which mileage program in the late summer/early fall I signed up to receive. It would have been AA or UAL. Forgot to take a screen shot. I'm bad, I know. I couldn't find a link to it. Can anyone provide it to me. My miles have not posted. TIA.

Touching on a few points in this thread: I signed up for My points almost 6 Years ago and NEVER recieved the UA Bonus Points yhat were used to draw me in. So, good luck. I would have walked but by that time I was to invested in the program with having earned points with their other earning activities. Over the years I gotten 4-6 Macy's $100.00 Gift Certs as well as about 25,000UA miles.

I worked for Marriott for a number of years at one of their Timeshare prperties. We used to give United miles as an enticement for people to tour the property and attend a sales presentation. We used to buy the miles from United for $.01 each so, because of that experience I tend to value the ponts at the same level.

My 'bone of contention' with My Points rightnow is their 'service' department. On 2/22 I ordered a $50.00 Outback Gift Card for the face Value of the card and was to get 300 points for doing so. When I filled out the purchase form and attempted to use a CC the form wanted to where the CC statement was sent. I filled in the name and address but I neglected to 'click' the box below that says, 'My shipping addres is the same as my billing address'. When I realized this I e-mailed My points with the problem and asked them to let the vendor know of the problem. The reply I recieved from My Points was that I should be assured that I will recieve my 300 points and that I should let the vendor know if the points don't post. I wasn't as concerned about the points as having the gift card shipped some where else than to me.

A few weeks ago I ordered the Panera Bread Gift Card on a similar deal and and remembered to check off the the shipping box. I recieved the Panera Card wihin about a week or ten days. In my reply from My points re: the Outback card to said to contact the vendor but there was no info on who the vender was. However,
when I recieved the Panera card there was a letter that said: My Points Redemption Center, c/o loyalty Innovations, 120 South 72ndST., Suite 310, Omaha NE, 68124. Two questions: 1.) Does anyone think the vender is 'Loyal Innovations'? 2.) does anyone have a phone # for my Points?

Thanks in advance for any possible help.

BTW, the 300 points posted within a few days of recieving the Panera GC. So, at least that one went smoothly.

Marriott TravelCard

I just went to redeem my points for a Marriott TravelCard. I ususally get the $75 one for 9100 points. The $75 and $100 do not show up. Does this mean they are just out or are they not available anymore. They still have the $50 one for 6,850 points, but the $75 was the best value.

Those are my preferred awards as well and I do notice that they occassionally disappear for a while, but typically come back a few weeks later. So I'd suggest you hold off on redeeming the $50 unless you're short on time before your planned stay.
