Judy, careful with gold on eBay - they're raising FVF again soon:
http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformat...pdate2011.html
so gold will be overprised, at least extra $50 for 1Oz
And, BTW - they stopped churnability of eBay gift cards, or you still have a way? Spend these cards in early April together with Ebay bucks and stay away after...

Not being a math major here, my gold guy uses free shipping, So I am not seeing how this will really affect me since the final value fee is $101 in the example I am seeing, so still Ebay Bucks and Bigcrumbs. Am I missing something?

After these changes any sane seller of 1OZ gold coin/bullion on eBay would have to sell for spot+$120 just to break even, that's insane and you can buy cheaper elsewhere.

The alternative!
Well, I did just that - found the alternative to GiftCards.com
I'm still kind of testing it, so I'm not prepared to announce it publicly.
It is better than current GiftCards.com, but worse than Amex - it's not a moneymaker - I only brake even, so do not gloat about it.
I will let in the "beta" a few FTrs who made a positive contribution here (judged by myself, sorry), maybe the collective brain will work better.
So if you're up to the task - PM me

I just stumbled upon this thread and this is what I believe I can accomplish
- Buy a $5K Amex Gift card using BigCrumbs for 1.6% cash back after a $3.95 service charge and $8.95 shipping charge to get a net (80 - 3.95 - 8.95) $67.10
- Club the purchase on my Discover Card to get 1% cashback - an additional 1% = $50
However, I am now stuck with a 5K gift card that is likely to take me about a couple of months to drain through on personal expenses..... or is there a way to cash out this gift card. I know costco allows you to get cash from their gift cards. Do they allow Amex too?
If there was a way to cash out the Amex gift card, I'm all ears.

I just sent BC two emails yesterday to dispute two GC.com credits in my account. The credit was merely a 0.4% CB of the giftcard purchase. I sent them a screenshot made on the date of my purchase (in early March) showing 2.4% CB still. BC is probably fed up with all the problems with GC.com and just call it good.
