MXP Rejects RyanAir

December 24, 2007

Malpensa has rejected Ryanair's offer to operate out of the airport, describing as "unacceptable" a plan made by the airline at time when the future role of Italy's northern hub has come under doubt.

Ryanair probably demanded ridiculously low fees.

Things like this make me laugh. Ryanair has to 'soften its position.' Still, where does this leave MXP if no one wants to have a base their?

Have not checked lately but doesn't EasyJet have a large operation at MXP-like a hub but they don't sell connections? I like their "no reasonable" wieght limit on carry-ons. If only I had the strength to carry my roll aboard up the ramp stairs. Even Hercules would have trouble with that when I've packed for an EasyJet flight.

I have no problems with other LCC's like Easyjet or Jet2. FR just leaves a bad taste in my mouth...
