Ryanair -- using a USA based VISA checking card

is a US based VISA checking card considered a credit or debit card? Since there is no credit frame on it, i would assume it is a debit card, right? Does the ryan air computer accept it?
(fees are lower when using a debit card or visa plus card)

Just enter the card number and see what fee it comes up with - you can still change your mind before you click the "OK" button.

Whatever fee their system comes up with is final - and if it's in one of its "I don't feel like accepting debit cards today" moods then that is final too.

^ They accepted the Credit Union Checking/Debit card. 60 eurocent per segment payment fee is much more acceptable than 2,50 Euro per segment which add up when you book a roundtrip for a bunch of people.

Glad you got it sorted, and that their system accepted your card and charged you the lower rate. It's quite temperamental and erratic. When I tried to book a flight a few months back it refused to accept ANY of the debit cards that I offered it, and I had to use a credit card in the end. I contacted Ryanair about this (clearly a bug, as there was nothing wrong with those debit cards, and I had used two of them with Ryanair before). They thanked me for my observation but refused to refund the difference. Just what one would expect, of course...

I tried on Ryanair and Eastjet, both were not ok using my debit card.
