Changing flight number and time
Hi All,
New to this forum and looking for some advice on a flight situation.
We booked the following for going out to watch the Euros: RK1593 Manchester - Cologne (Bonn), Wednesday 19th June, Departing 12.30
My booking now shows the following: FR1593 Manchester - Cologne (Bonn), Wednesday 19th June, Departing 20.05
So new flight number & near 8 hour time change. Have called, emailed and chatted with Ryanair, but they will not help until I receive the 'email' confirming these changes.
This has been going on for 2 months and now we are a little more than 1 month away, we are getting nervous about being able to book with someone else at a reasonable price whilst this drags on.
Can any experts out there please let me know if what they have told me is correct / legal because in my eyes if they have changed my flight number they have cancelled my original flight and not rescheduled it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't do anything (i.e. rebooking for free or get a full refund) until you have been notified of a cancellation or retimed flight. Anyway, you will eventually receive it.
In the meantime you can look for and book alternative flights as you will be able to choose a full refund from FR when a flight is cancelled or retimed by more than 5 hours.

If I ever needed a reminder of why to not book Ryanair this would be the perfect example.
They have already updated the booking record, but because they don't send an email the customer has to accept being stuck in limbo while Ryanair unnecessarily hangs on to the passenger's money and puts heavy restrictions on their planning. Talk about deceptive business practices.
