Strike cancels flight - options?
I have a friend in Bari, Italy who is supposed to fly to visit me in Athens on Monday. There are only direct flights on Mondays and Fridays. Her Monday flight was just cancelled because of a strike in Bari that day. There are other non-direct options the next day or after the strike is schedule to be over, but they're on other airlines or prohibitively expensive.
Does anyone have experience with this and any ideas about what we can do? She could come a day later, but otherwise we can't reschedule.

FR will not rebook to other airlines. Maybe it better to cancel the visit to ATH?
If your friend can't wait for the next FR flight, book a new ticket with another airline and contact his/her travel insurance for reimbursement, Good luck!
Alternatively search for flights options from other nearby Italian cities - Rome, and then take the train to there tomorrow or Tuesday?
