Ryanair will operate 60% of its normal flight schedules following rising demand.

The airline said passenger numbers have continued to grow since flights resumed at the end of June.

It will operate 1600 routes with more than 11,000 weekly flights.

"Since the resumption of our schedule in late June, passenger numbers have continued to grow and as a result, we're delighted to announce that our flight schedule is set to increase to more than 60% in August," Chief Executive Eddie Wilson said.

With the increasing number of countries advising against all but essential travel to other european countries, itll be interesting to see how much of the schedule withstands for the rest of the month and into September.

you're talking about today. No one knows what will happen tomorrow, next week, next month. It's all speculation. So far all the modelling has been completely wrong. There are no experts out there. None.

This could all be over very shortly, except the media won't let it go away.

Think everyone everywhere will get corona. Many millions probably have had it already & don't even know it.

Many people are taking less & less notice of what govts have to say.

London (CNN Business)EasyJet is slashing its UK operations and Ryanair is cutting its upcoming flight schedule by a fifth, in the latest signs that travel companies are struggling to make a comeback from the coronavirus pandemic.

EasyJet (ESYJY)said in a statement Monday that operations based at London Stansted, London Southend and Newcastle will be scrapped on August 31. Stansted and Newcastle will remain part of its route network, served by inbound planes from other bases, it added. All flights to and from Southend will be stopped.

EasyJet is cutting its flight schedule further after the introduction of new lockdown measures in the UK and mainland Europe, saying it will only run a maximum of 20% of planned flights for the rest of the year.

The announcement comes only weeks after easyJet said it would be cutting capacity to 25% for the rest of 2020. The airline has taken more drastic measures than the rival budget airline Ryanair, which recently said it would run about 40% of its planned capacity from November to March.
