Ryanair - problem with name?
My friend has booked a flight for her father on Ryanair to Dublin but has put his name as Ray Smith instead of Raymond Smith. Do you think this will be a problem?
The name change fee is Ł150 and to buy a new ticket is Ł45.
Should they risk turning up at check in and be denied boarding or should she bite the bullet and buy a new ticket?
Does anyone one have any experience of this?

Ryanair will let you change the name (minor adjustment, Jay to James, Alex to Alexandra) for free so I'd 100% get on it asap. It's only within the first 24hours of booking.
Can I correct a minor error on my ticket?

If I were traveling, I would risk it.
If it were my father, I would spend the Ł45 and know that he was not stuck arguing with staff.
I would especially do this for anyone for whom I had purchased a ticket if I loused up their name and then did not catch it.
