RyanAir Baggage Weight limits

We are flying RyanAir from Dublin to Berlin as part of our vacation. I have looked at their baggage weight limits online and see that it is 10kg or around 22 pounds. We have the right size bags, but wondering how close do they watch the weight of bags? We have traveled on European airlines before, paid the checked baggage charge before only to find that others with larger and heavier bags were able to carry their bags on. Want to save a few bucks if I can.

In my experience, the cabin luggage weight is almost never checked. If your luggage is indeed the right size, and doesn't look excessively heavy, then you would be fine.

Also, Ryanair now allows a second, smaller bag to be taken on board. As far as I know, Ryanair doesn't mention any weight limit for this bag. In the very unlikely scenario that Ryanair kicks up a fuss, just put something from your main cabin bag to a plastic bag and claim that's your second cabin bag.

I don't recall Ryanair ever asking to weigh my carry on. Commonly, Ryanair offers free checked bag to reduce carry on bags at airport check-in.

They are meticulous about checked bags, but I've never had them even check the carry on to see if it fit in the box or by weight. If you're a US citizen, make sure you get the stamp at their luggage check in or you'll likely miss your flight by the time you find out that you need it.

As posted above, they rarely weight Handluggage nowadays and they are good with a second bag. While I rarely put luggage in the hood with them, I doubt that they will let you get away with not paying excess charges at checkin.

Re Handluggage, large bags (even in Priority Boarding) and second bags especially at the back of the boarding queue are likely to be put in the hold.
