RyanAir Baggage check in question

Good evening,

I am new here and apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I am massively frustrated with RyanAir, and have just gone through the online check-in procedure.

I have no idea now if I have baggage allocated or not?!
This is the only information listed on the itinerary, does anyone know what this translates to?

"2 x 0" in my book is 0... I'm totally unsure of their interpretation though!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

TIA
Olly

Hello ojr, and welcome to Flyertalk.

We have a Budget Travel forum, where our (willing and unwilling) Ryanair experts tend to reside, so I'll move this thread over there to see if their experience can help you.

I would add that it doesn't look like you've checked in a bag, as there doesn't appear to be a fee for it. If you haven't paid a fee, you haven't booked luggage.

If this is the case, you can still add luggage and alter the check-in printout - go to "Manage My Booking" and "Add Bags" and it will let you create an amended check-in.

Hopefully you can do it before or at checkin, otherwise it gets really expensive at the aiport by all accounts.

Look for other RyanAir threads in Budget Travel forum for more info.

Online checkin

At online check in you get your boarding pass. It is an A4 sheet with the words Boarding Pass and contains name, flight number, boarding queue details, and various bar codes and other bits and bobs. Looking at an old Rynair boarding pass my luggage allowance is stated in the middle of the boading pass. For me it stated (correctly) "1 cabin bag only 55 X 40 X 20 cm (MAX 10 kg)".

As others have stated hold baggage can be added via "Manage my booking" etc. Boarding passes are distinct documents and not reservation confirmation emails.

Ryanair are strict about both cabin and hold baggage rules.

-------------------------------------------

From the Ryanair website "Passengers can check-in online from 15 days up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. Once a passenger has checked in online the boarding pass can be reprinted up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time. "

Often this means that I check in for my return leg before I leave home as its less hassle to print out the boarding pass at home! (If you are away from home for more than 15 days I'd suggest a friend's PC/printer or ask at a hotel desk for help or perhaps an internet cafe could help.)

Even if you are dropping off hold baggage at the bag drop desk it is important to get (via Manage My booking - Online check in) and print your boarding pass(es) before going to the airport. Take your printed boarding passes and passport to the airport. Ryanair charge lots to print paperwork at the airport. As ever be in good time.
