Thumbs down Ryanair To Install Vending Machines On Planes

From The Wall Street Journal, March 31, 2010:

Ryanair To Install Vending Machines On Planes

Ryanair Holdings PLC (RYAAY), the no-frills Irish carrier, said it will install vending machines on its 225 planes in an effort to cut costs and lift ancillary revenue.

Ryanair said that the phased installation of vending machines will allow it to reduce its cabin crew teams onboard from four to two who will perform safety announcements and ensures passenger seatbelts are securely fastened.

From June 2010 Ryanair passengers will be able to purchase hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks, ice-cream, condoms and smokeless cigarettes directly from onboard vending machines, the airline said.

What's next, a fee from Ryanair for flying BA, bmi, or Virgin???? Well it might be a nice way to put BA out of business.

Pay toilets are just around the corner. Bring a pocket full of change if you plan on a loo visit.
