VKO - DME airport change
Anyone have any experience changing airports in Moscow from VKO to DME? I would have a tourist visa in hand. What problems may I run into since I have to leave the "transit" area? How long between flights would I need to allow sufficient time to get to the 2nd airport? Thanks!

No problems at all with a visa. Will you be riding a taxi or the trains? The taxi may take anywhere from 50 minutes to 2 hours depending on traffic (day of week and time of day matter). The Aeroexpress trains - approximately 2-2,5 hours.

Belated thanks Temedar, for the reply.
It looks like I will now be arriving at SVO and will need to get to DME for my connecting flight to SVX.
Any suggestions on getting from SVO to DME?
Thanks again!

Your options are the same, however the taxi trip will take longer as SVO is much futher from DME than VKO. For a single passenger I'd recommend taking the train here (unless you have lots of luggage or the connection is at night). If you're in a group of 2-4 people, and have 5+ hours between flights, the taxi might be a cheaper and overall better option.

It will be my wife and I. I am hoping to pack light, but we will have luggage in tow. We are hoping to arrive at SVO on a Sunday around 09:00 with our SVX flight from DME around 17:00/18:00.
Any tips on the best way to catch a taxi (inside/outside airport, rates negotiable)?
How many hours before our flight do we need to be inside DME?

Traffic on Sunday morning will be light. Actually you can explore the city for a few hours if you want to.
I'm not sure if there is an official taxi stand in SVO (there is one in DME), but the airport's web site has rates for the approved taxi companies (company?) and the fare to DME is 3400/4100 roubles ($57/$68) depending on car class. Slightly on the higher side IMHO, but I can't call it a rip-off. Checking what Uber offers may be a good idea
Arriving at DME 2 hours before your flight is recommended, though for a domestic flight 75-90 minutes will probably also be OK even with luggage to check.
