It was removed due to pandemic. Having unrelated people withing close proximity or something along those lines. It was mostly done due to safety protocols. Remember the shutdown and all that. I think Uber would like to bring it back, but it depends more on the public need. I guess that Uber is playing it safe and its mostly on a waiting mode.
