Maui Rental Prices May 2017
We travel to Maui pretty much every year in May. It's shoulder season, so car rental rates are usually dirt cheap. This year is different - it's like there's something big going on the second/third week of May that's taken all of the SUVs, special cars, etc., as if a lot of VIPs were going to be on the island. Prices on even small cars haven't dropped a cent since I reserved back in February - in fact, some have gone up.
Anyone know what's going on, just so we know what we might run into?

We just celebrated Lei Day and Boys Day is May 5. The 2nd/3rd week will be Mother's Day weekend, so maybe it's just a popular travel weekend.
On another note, beware of the rat lungworm disease going around here. Don't touch the snails if you see any.
