ordering kosher on codeshare

whne you fly on a codeshare flight, which company do you order your kosher meal from? the real question is how to ensure our kosher meals are onboard.

A few years ago I was on a DL flight ATL-MXP. I had ordered kosher meals (but only because they are better than the usual Y fare -- not out of religious motivation).

On the other side of the aisle there was a religious couple (with her being so pregnant that I was suprised she was flying). For some reason, the husband's was given a kosher meal but the wife's record did not show that she had asked for one.

They were furious and kept telling the FA that there was no way a pregnant woman could be expected to fly all the way across the Atlantic without eating. (Oddly, enough, the husband did not offer to give his meal to his wife.)

I told the FA to give her my meal and to bring me the usual dinner instead. The woman thanked me profusely. About 10 minutes later the FA returned and said that there was an open seat in First and I was invited to take it.

That's when the story hit the height of chutzpah, even for Israelis. Both the husband and wife complained to the FA that they should have been upgraded, not me, as it was her kosher meal which was not served!

C'mon, Dov -- that isn't anywhere near the height of chutzpah - especially for Israelis.

Dovster while that might not have been the most "CHUTZPAHDIK" thing by Israelis, this might be.

I have a question to you. With over 21,000 posts in 4 years, averaging out to over 12 a day, don't you work???

Before the flames come , the question was asked in good spirits

I certainly do my best to avoid it!

Actually, I do almost all my work on my home computer. I also have my mail program set to check every 8 minutes (while I am actually at the computer). If a post, like yours, comes in and deserves an answer I take it as a good reason for a short work break.

You want to talk about chutzpah...I can't believe a man could sit there and eat in front of his hungry, pregnant wife! She doesn't need a kosher meal. She needs a better man.
