Wonder if BOS-ZUR will be one?

Why doesn't SW join OW?

They want to, but some OW member airlines, namely BA, have strong objections because they fear additional competition within the alliance. ZRH would be an attractive alternative on some transatlantic flights now routed through LHR.

Does the AA and SWISS codeshare deal mean that Qualiflyer miles collected on AA may be credited as club miles, instead of bonus miles?

As always, with any LX flight number all Qualiflyer miles are credited as club miles.

Patron is right.

I am afraid that the crediting of club miles does not extend beyond LX flights, as it did back in the times of the DL/SR partnership.

For now there probably won't be any club miles for an AA flight number.

They did mention intensifying the cooperation of their frequent flyer programmes in the Geneva newspapers. So I thought, great, club miles!

American Airlines announced that it will extend its route network to five additional points in Poland, India, and the Middle East through its codeshare agreement with SWISS.

Beginning July 31, the company will place its AA code on SWISS flights from Zurich to Krakow and Warsaw, Poland, and to Muscat, Oman. On Aug. 7, the company will put its code on SWISS flights from Zurich to Mumbai and Delhi in India.

YIPPPIE!!!!!!

Finally, I thought that day will never come. Now, AA got my business all the way!

We will now have codeshare to even KRK. Awesome! Let the SWISS join OneWorld and allow us to upgrade SWISS operated flights and ... well there is some more stuff (like BA transatlantic mileage accrual, etc.), but that makes me one happy flyer http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks doc.
