lounge in ATH

I have a GVA-ATH Y flight in July and will have to wait 3 hours in ATH for friends travelling with other airlines. I am thinking about using miles to upgrade to biz for being able to have access to the lounge in ATH. I've never been to ATH. Here are my questions :
1. Do Swiss have its own lougne there or share it with other companies ?
2. Can I have access to it when arriving or is it only accessible when departing ?
Thanks in advance for your advice !

Welcome to the board, swiss traveller! First of all, the required information I come up with are from searching Athensairport web-page and not from personal experience.

Does LX has its own lounge there or share it with other companies ?
Swissport lounge is located in Satellite Terminal on Departure level near gate A32. I do not know how many airlines are share this location.

Can I have access to it when arriving or is it only accessible when departing ?
Only accessible when departing. To enter most lounges, you need a same-day-boarding pass.

One advice: If you ask for an upgrade and invest 5.000 miles just to have access in the lounge, look on which carrier you are flying onwards. Maybe this is on a different Terminal and this carrier uses another lounge.

Welcome Swiss Traveler! The new ATH airport has many cafes and shops, not like the old one. You will probably be just as entertained in the airport as in the lounge, plus you can get some nice Greek sunshine if you like. You can also take a taxi to a nearby zoo for an hour or two. There are details on www.athensguide.com. They have birds and monkeys and other diversions.
