Qualiflyer returns to Scotland (sort of)

There was a time when both EDI and GLA had four flights a day on SN (irronically most the EDI flights being with DAT) and Crossair flew daily EDI-ZRH.

Since the meltdown last year we have nothing and I have been starting my mileage runs to get the 240K from AMS (using EZY to connect).

I noticed yesterday in the Crossair magazine that LX will flew twice a week (days not mentioned) to EDI from ZRH.

I suppose these flights are aimed at the Swiss tourists visiting Scotland (and for that I should be grateful) but it will mean that they will be useless for connections.

If only Sabena II would return to the Scottish routes.

I quite agree, Stephen, LX's times are fairly useless for connecting flights. The 1610 Saturday departure is handy if you're coming down from Wick, as I have often have; you can catch it quite comfortably if you hop off Scottish Citylink at Charlotte Square, cross over to Shandwick Place and pick up the airport bus. Sabena is a big miss.

I have tended to use Inverness airport more and more, easyJet and once, the extremely spartan Scotairways.

Scotairways no longer fly from Inverness. They operate EDI-LCY though.

I pdersonally boycott them....they are half owned by a homophobic milionaire called Brian Souter who a couple of years back spend 2 MIllion (we are aa country of only 5 million people) trying to whip up anti-gay feeling!! He failed to stop the an anti-gay law from being removed though.

I appreciate that this wont be a factor for everyone but it is enough for me to refuse to fly this airline.

I thought Scotairways was a reincarnation of Suckling Airways?

You're right about the cessation of services to Inverness, though I suspect they won't be a great miss. I had no idea about the things you say about them.
