Reward Availability
Given the interest in the SR/LX 240 000 miles promotion, has anyone had any experience regarding the availability of rewards?
In particular I'm looking to claim a First or Biz class reward to Australia, perhaps as soon as the end of June.
However, given that miles won't be posted until the end of May, can anyone say from past experience what the chances of getting a seat with one month's notice will be? (I could travel mid-week if necessary.)
I would have no particular choice of carrier - and I believe my options would be with Malaysia Airlines, CX, or possibly a combination of SR to Asia, with a Qantas connecion from there.
With thanks in advance,
WG

Weynand,
I usually find it difficult to book award tickets during the school breaks in Europe (July/August) but fairly easy during other times, especially upfront.
Also, people are afraid that there won't be any Swissair / Crossair successor after March 31st (or at least none flying their route) so there shouldn't be too many bookings on SR/LX.
On the other hand I could imagine many people tapping Qualiflyer's contingent of free seats on partners (CX, QF) because of that fear.
So I'd suggest you either book early on a partner or wait until SR/LX has published their summer schedule and then book there.
