Crossair Quality
Crossair for me was never more than Swissair's little baby : Swiss domestic.
Last weeks I had over a dozen flights on Crossair and I was impressed with the quality of the service.
Cabin staff has an outfit in Corleone style and wears a silly hat. The planes are small (Crossair mostly has short European flights).
Cabin comfort and in-flight service are excellent. Full drink service, good breakfast including fresh croissants, and very tasty sandwiches for lunch. All served with real glassware, coffee in a china cup, also to pax in Y. After drinks we all pax were offerred a choice of Swiss chocolate. The pilot kept us very well informed and said goodbye as we left.
By phone I pre-ordered a tax free item from the SR in-flight catalogue. Crossair had it correctly delivered during the flight.
The Crossair lounge at Basel is impressive. One of the best designed and furnished lounges I have ever visited. Overall, I am impressed. This airline deserves more than the bad luck they had in recent months.

The old LX was for me a small regional carrier with intra-european services to and from petty EAP. They are using tiny, noisy airplanes with very limited space for carry-on luggage, narrow seats and little legroom. I dont care abolut inflight services on short tracks.

The propeller driven Saab (AMS-BSL route) indeed is a noisy plane. LX has a larger fleet of brand new Embraer. The Embraer has two jets at the back of the plane and is very quiet. Indeed the planes are small, but they are comfortable and well maintained.
LX cabin luggage service is fine. You can leave large size cabin luggage when you go on board, it a goes in the back of the plane and on arrival it is delivered at the aircraft.

I always found them excellent on my 10+ flights sofar. I dare to say that I consider the service of LX inflight staff to be the most friendly service of any airline around (and I have flown a few of them).
