Lost my Circle Status!!!

I was a Circle member for the last three years and enjoyed the benefits. Then due to a position change I did not travel for a year. So I am no longer Circle. Didn't think I'd miss it. Now that I am traveling on SR at about the same pace I was when I had Circle - I do miss it for a variety of reasons.

Any suggestions on how to get it back without flying for a year to prove it to them? I have already contacted Frau Wipf - no luck! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif The sales staff in my local office (ORD) is all new and don't know me from Adam!

Anyone want to make me a companion Circle http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif?

Any other suggestions?

I think it would depend upon why they mde you Circle in the first place - it is rare to be made circle just because you took a high number of flights, are you sure it was not because of your job position and when that changed you Circle status went with it?

I would certainly miss the 'VIP' cars at Zurich, but that is about the only thing.

is the SR VIP-car service (for circle) in ZRH really better than mine? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I notice that you both are based in Europe, Perhaps the qualifications are different or expended for U.S. based flyers. WHen I originally wrote to Fr. Wipf regarding getting my status back she did say respond in her letter that if I flew 100,000 miles or kilometers (don't remember which), I would get my status back, as opposed to the normal requirement of 160,000.

One of the things I miss is access to the lounge. When on an intra-european flight - they would not allow me into the F lounge even though I came in F the day before and was leaving in F the next day. Sorry sir you are in C class you must use C class lounge!

Rudi: The car service might not be better - but sadly I don't think they allow even you to fly to the plane yet? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

MikeFly: This is very strange (certainly in Europe) they never publish criteria for attaining Circle it is by invitation only, and is not normally realted to miles flown.

With so few Qualiflyer F class lounges, this is one benefit that doesn't bother me. Not having to get on those awful buses is the big draw for me.

Nick,

I sure hope you are not talking about the buses in ZRH! I always felt that the European members were made more aware of benefits than us 'foreigners'. In fact they never told us about the special lounges! It was pure coincidence I was told about it! Also a couple of days ago I saw a U.S. Circle Club member in the F lounge- he did not know about the Circle lounge nor did the staff tell him. I finally did.

Ii was offered "Circle" by SR when they split with DL, turned it down as I hated their service.

HFly,

That is an approach - I never tried with SR. I diagree with your opinion, but I am curious, why did you feel that DL is better than SR?
