Nice Little Bonus

I have never received this before, so I was somewhat suprised when I checked my Qualiflyer balance this morning and found a nice little bonus had been added for my birthday.

Does anyone know if this is a new practice or what the criteria is?

Nick

2 things:

How much is the bonus?

My account has been frozen for months in spite of various tx that I made so I wouldn't be surprised if they forget my birthday!

Only 2,500 but it was a nice gesture.

Only! If you think that their welcome bonus is 1000 this is generous.

Merry, will you consider changing your birthday in the profile and see if you get more? Maybe they have a bug!

I think I should be careful not to lose my ethical values in the conquest for miles, anyway give it a try!

I could give it a try. Or I could write them and ask if this discriminated against people born on Feb 29 on a leap year! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Has anyone else gotten this bonus?

I am only a few miles short of the award I want on Qualiflyer and the 2500 miles would come in handy if it was awarded to everyone.

Unfortunately I am unable to check my balance as I have not yet received my first statement so maybe I got a 2500 bonus for my birthday in March which I did not know about.

cheers Peter

Peter: Why do you need a statement to check your balance?

If it is just for a PIN phone up the Qualiflyer service centre and ask for one.

Phoning ex Australia coudl be a little expensive.

Besides I understand that Swissair is due to release a May statement which should be here any day now.

Once I have the statement balance I can get my pin online.

patience... patience...

At any rate I have written to Swissair asking them about this promotion - I'm interested to know whether you do get these bonuses on your birthday. I wodner if they also give free miles for christmas like Lanpass do?

cheers Peter

ok - I tell you the "secret" behind it: it is only for Status members (but then automatically).

That probably explains why I have just received a reply from Swissair saying that they do not have any such bonus offer at the moment.

Peter - call Swissair in Melbourne and ask them to reuqest a PIN for you. They can do that without any problem.

As for status...? Well, two Christmases ago, all TravelClub members received a very nice Christmas Pudding. There was nothing last year so maybe they were economising!

A frequent flyer pudding!. I suppose this was a bonus pudding. I wonder if the pudding counts towards Swissair's equivalent of elite status?
