QR C class Fastrack at BKK?

Do QR C passengers get to Fastrack Immigration at BKK Suvarnabhumi? The info is conflicting, there is supposedly a Fastrack, but on other FT threads they say its closed now.

Dont fancy a 50 min queue!

I believe only TG F class passengers get that. No other airline I know offer this.

50 min queue will depend on the time of day you arrive. QR flights arrive in the middle of the afternoon, early evening when the arrivals are the quietest. I was in and out of customs within 10 mins. Traffic however is a different matter!

Last time I arrived on QR 612 (or QR613 ??) DOH-BKK the arrival is early in the morning. There is no fast track for C pax. I had to wait for about 20 mins at immigration.

Only TG F has a real fast track where F pax are driven in a buggy to the VIP/diplomatic counter, as GuyBetsy mentioned

As others have posted no fast track for QR C pax. Last time (August 07) on QR 610 in C (evening arrival, ~ 18:00 hrs) I waited for 30-40 minutes to get through.

Many thanks to both. Guess I will need to use the tips from ThaiVisa forum on how to avoid the queues then Then I will only have to battle the secret cigarette police, the taxi touts and the "meter no working" taxi drivers

Its QR612, it gets in at 0650 so from what I can read it should "hopefully" miss the worst of the queues.

Ive already been reminded to ask for the Fastrack card on the plane on my return to LGW which I had forgotten about. Not registered on IRIS, theyre never open any time Ive been through there or LHR.

Check the TG thread where there's currently a discussion regarding the disappearance of Fast Track for TG C passengers (let alone other airlines!!)

http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=760427

However, to recap a point I just posted there, I arrived on the same morning flight from DOH - the lines were the WORST I'd seen in my twice monthly entries to BKK, ever since I landed on the morning the darn airport opened.

I walked up to Fast Track with my QR boarding pass - no-one even asked to look at it.

The TG flight lands an hour or so later than QR (I originate in KWI - lands about 8:30), and I rarely have to use the Fast Track as there are so few people waiting in line at immigration. Presumably this means the earlier you're there, the worse it is.

QR Fast Track in and out of BKK

Update:

QR now gives its C class passengers CIP vouchers to use the fast track immigration entering and leaving BKK. This has only happened in the last few weeks.

Only problem... on the plane, there's zero explanation what the CIP voucher is for. I had to explain to some Qatari passengers near me, who had expected the fast-track to be near the normal immigration lines. It isn't. You have to walk further away.

Side note: currently sat in Premium Terminal in DOH. Food really sucks, don't you think? Biriyani and hoummos as usual. Nothing decent to snack on. And I was just told I couldn't eat food out of the dining area! Laptop etc., already wired up on a table elsewhere so I said I wouldn't bother with the food. But seemed a strange rule.

CIP Vouchers

I got the voucher last time I flew into BKK in early Jan. There's a 1000 baht cash back voucher for duty free purchases over 5000 baht.

On my flight the crew didn't communicate what the vouchers were for either. Inside the terminal it was fairly slap-dash affair. Makeshift signs thrown up indicating the location of the CIP line off to the left, past the first immigration line. It was fast.

On my way out of Bangkok at end of Jan, I got the same voucher for express exit throuogh Thai immigration. I also got a personal escort all the way to the TG lounge. It was nice, but not necessary.

Hope this helps.
