Onboard duty free purchase
Friends travelling LGW - DOH - SIN asking whether in-flight duty free is good value.
I regularly travel Qatar, but have never bought duty free. Actually thinking about it, I don't even know if duty free alcohol is offered for sale?

I might have actually used it to purchase alcohol if offered since I do buy duty free alcohol from Doha.

QR stopped selling duty free on board (IIRC) in 2019. I never thought it good value, prices being better in the UK. There’s lots of duty free opportunities at DOH but I’m not convinced it’s good value, again prices appear more agreeable in the UK.

Most airlines have stopped selling onboard duty free, including QR.
As mentioned above, DOH dutyfree prices are high, same at LGW. Might be better to buy in UK if you can put it in your checked bag.

Most airports now have duty free on arrival as well. If you're transferring in DOH, there is little point to buying something there, just so you have one more thing (bag) to deal with and carry around with you. I find DOH duty free prices high; MEL is definitely cheaper.
