Teenage child transiting Doha
My 14 year old nephew is flying BKK-LHR transiting in Doha business class next month but he's never flown alone so what can he expect to happen?
Will there be a chaperone to greet him from the flight?
There maybe a 2-3hr wait so would he be brought to the lounge then collected again & brought to his gate for boarding?
It's a QR/BA codeshare with the 1st leg on QR metal & the 2nd on BA metal.

Understand:
1. What is a minor in the airlines view? Some airlines have a cut off of 12, 14, 16 or 18. There is no universal rule.
2. If the traveller is considered a minor then what is the cost of the service and is is available for your fare?
3. If the traveller is not considered a minor, is he mature enough to find how own way or else book a meet and assist service like Al Maha?

Especially if he/she isn't officially a UM, give the kid some parental permission to travel letter to show if questioned by someone in authority, a credit card (at least for emergency use even if you don't want it used for minor incidental travel expenses such as reading material, snacks, etc.), and arrange a medical power of attorney for the destination if applicable.
