This thread is purely related to discussing QR Sale Fares.

Is the current 'Sale' actually a Sale?
Are the fares cheaper than previous Sales?
Is this Sale absolutely useless for your travel plans?

Well, here is the place to discuss!

Safe travels,

Sale Fares Discussion 2023

Don't we normally see sales by now in January. This year all I am seeing are fares double what they were in mid December.

pretty weak on QR part.

One could be forgiven for not realising that this was a sale, given that prices (certainly ex-UK) are mostly above those prevailing for most of the second half of last year.

There are some decent prices from various places in Europe depending on where you want to go: e.g. Bangkok ex-Scandinavia below £1200 for later in the year. There are also some good prices ex Brussels, Amsterdam, Warsaw etc.

We are considering taking Qatar from DFW to CAI on Feb 28th. We would transit in Doha. We would be returning probably on March 11th, possibly March 10th. How do I find the best price for 2 ppl in coach? Thank you. We have never flown on Qatar before and don't have any status.

You can use Google Flights. I see a $801 fare on QR in economy. If you have flexibility with your dates, you can use their calendar function to find low fares in your choice of dates.

Planning some Asia trips for a few months and prices from the usual suspects (ARN/CPH/OSL/AMS/BRU) are considerably more expensive than usual.

For now the 1600-700 euro returns to Asia are no more.

I was looking for any of JRO/DAR/ZNZ or BKK/SIN from northern Europe, and there was up until recently lots of prices in the USD 1500-1900 range for all desinations. That has dried up quickly. Now ZNZ seems to be around USD 4500 and BKK at USD 3500-4000.

I was looking for some time away now that the annual fauna based sexual assault is on (pollen allergies), but at this rate I'm looking at other ways of dealing with this issue.

There's a $500 discount for ex-US J fares for travel through October 31st if purchased by March 31st. See Good Qatar Biz Fares for $500 off?

Looks like northern Europe to ZNZ/JRO have dropped back to civilised levels as of next week. Singapore still somewhat expensive Bangkok also back to more normal pricing.
