Flight Delay Compensation
Hello,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I recently flew QR for the 1st time LHR-MLE via Doha in J. The flight on the way out was delayed by a couple of hours but the MLE flight was held so we made that connection. The flight on the way back from MLE was delayed by 3 hours so we missed the LHR connection and had to overnight in DOH airport and catch the next flight out, which got into LHR >6 hours from our original arrival time.
The question is, are we entitled to any compensation akin to EC261? I would think not and I’m personally not too concerned but my travel companions seem to think it’s worth following up on. However to save myself an unfruitful exchange with QR (I don’t see anywhere on the website you can make any kind of claim similar to BA), I wanted to check in here given the wealth of knowledge and experience.
thanks!

Thank you all!
I thought as much re QR not being an EU carrier and technically the delay being between MLE and DOH, so I was checking more to see if there was any equivalent recourse with regards to QR significant delays but I guess not.
Thanks again!

EC261 only applies to non-community carrier flight out of, not into, the EU.

Thanks again for the replies. I knew checking here would save me an unnecessary email.
I guess to summarise then, no such recourse / compensation for significant delays exists with QR (in general and not related to EU 261).

Nope, no airside hotel. Just an escort to the lounge - they had an agent waiting at the gate when we landed with new boarding passes for the later flight who walked us through transit security and directly to the lounge.

Apparently the OP missed QR9 at 01:40 and got QR3 at 07:45.
As QR677 arrived from MLE with a 3h delay, it means that the OP had to spend 3 more hours in the lounge than expected.
No fun, but not such a big deal, arriving in LHR 6 hours late.
