Seat selection on QR as BA Silver

Flying LHR - DOH on a QR flight on a BA ticket (125) and BA flight code. I couldn't see in this or the QR forum what (if any) benefits there are with regard to seats for a BA Silver/OWS. Looking at ExpertFlyer there's loads of "good" seats open, but I cannot select them. In fact the whole first 6 rows or so seem to be unelectable.

As available seats is a QR issue, we’ll transfer the thread there.

Are you sure you are looking at the right PNR on the QR site? You will have a BA PNR and also a different QR PNR.

Definitely QR PNR. Couldn’t find the booking based on my BA one.

Ah ok, I just thought I would mention it as usually the BA one will also work on the QR site but won't allow you to select seats.

The D, E, F and G seats are blocked for pairs/quads or occupied. Rows 1 - 6 A, B, J and K are all occupied except 1A and 2B which are blocked. These may open up at check in if you ask.

The quads, as pointed out by ft101 are blocked off - this is standard for QR, but they are open to selection by phone for couples; or at the airport if available (Double Bed in Row 1, 3 and 5).

The aisle/window seats are all occupied, other than 1A (usually kept for crew) and 2B
