Advance information
Later this year my wife and I will be flying from Cardiff (CWL) to Jakarta(CGK). We are planning to travel Business Class at our own expense. However, I do have a question. The aircraft for each leg of the journey will be a 787-8. This aircraft only has 22 seats in Business Class. Obviously we want to sit together. I do not want to pay for our booking and then find that we are not able to sit together. Is there a way in which I can find seat availability before actually paying and completing my booking? Managing my booking after completing and paying would be too late if we were unable to sit together.Thank you for any advice.

I believe that Expedia show you the seat map before you complete a booking - you could also do this but I suggest book direct with the airline. Oh and don't actually select seats with your dummy booking with Expedia as they might be removed from inventory for a short period of time pending your potential purchase.

This thread gives some good advice on seat selection o nthe 787: Boeing 787-8: seating Q&A.
The consensus seems to to be that row 6 should be avoided, see above link for details.
