missed connection - Qatar Airways of no help

Hi, I had a QR booked itinerary: CNX-BKK-DOH-LHR. The first flight was late arriving in BKK from CNX due to a thunderstorm passing through BKK. After diverting and then flying back to BKK I missed the connection to DOH. The entire itinerary was QR but the first CNX-BKK was a Bangkok Airways codeshare. In BKK Qatar Airways did nothing to help me (in fact quite the opposite). I requested the next available flight to DOH but was asked to pay a change fee. They said the only way to avoid the change fee was to wait for 24hrs and fly on the same flight that I missed but the following day. Which I ended up doing. Qatar Airways didn't help me in the slightest. I've since written to them and received a reply stating: "Qatar Airways is not responsible for any delay or failure to perform a service, or any flight operations of any other carrier."

I was of the understanding that as it was a QR itinerary they would help me.

Hi,

I fly regulary USM-BKK-EU and i always make sure at booking that my flight from Koh samui (with Bangkok airways) have a QR XXXX flightnumber instead of a PG XXX number. Not sure if it makes any difference but you can bet very heavy on that i would demand, and not give in, to other then be seated on next avaible flight to DOH if my connection from USM would arrive late.
Cheers

Yet another QR stupidity.

You had one ticket = one contract, so they should have rebooked you for free on the next available flight.

Send them a response emphasizing you had a single ticket.
