Transit hotel/lounge at Doha airport options?

7hr 45 minute overnight transit due to sched change. Qatar Airways said 8hrs minimum layover required for airline provided accommodation. No mercy given. Ouch! they are tough cookies. Travelling paid business class did not seem to mean much. I could've been flying a magic carpet with Ali Baba and still would not get any mercy.

So now I am sitting on a chair. Some days, flying is just hard work.

Yes, QR is one of the few airlines that actually means it when it publishes rules. Sometimes hard for us FTers to get accustomed to.

I have an 8.5hr layover. Do I understand the above to say that QR doesn't offer free accommodation anymore? I'm on an AA award in J.
