Check in the Night Before?
Just managed to get a special from QR's offer to Madrid. The catch is that one arrives late (2120h) and on the return leg, one leaves early (1000h). We intend to be touring Spain and my question concerns the return leg leaving MAD at 1000h. As it will not be possible to take a train or fly IB from the coast to MAD on the morning of the longhaul flight, we shall have to do it the evening before. I brought up this query under the IB posts and was advised by a very helpful reader that we could check in the night before and use the lounge. We shall have done our online checkin, printed out our boarding passes, only have hand luggage and we hold the QR Platinum card. Would anyone know if we can check in at the QR counter at MAD the night before in order for them to issue us a lounge invitation, without which we know the IB staff at the lounge would not grant admission?

I don't think it will be any manned QR check-in counter at MAD in the evening. QR airport check-in open 3 hours before a flight, so the earliest it's 7:00 in the morning...
