Upgrade at airport with cash
Hello, I am planing on flying DOH-JNB. Anybody got a clue how much will it cost to upgrade from Economy to Business?

They would probably charge you the fare difference between Y and J. DOH-JNB always fills up in business so I doubt they would let let any upgrades go discounted.

You may get an email offering an upgrade to an existing booking, but they never seem good value to me.

For example from the last year:

LHR-DOH GBP 483
DOH-DXB GBP 193
DOH-DXB AED 1102
DOH-AUH AED 1102
DOH-FRA EUR 637

For the e-mail/online upgrade offer, you do NOT get the additional BAEC tier points (just the original class tier points).

Not sure about airport/cash upgrades.

On a recent flight from DFW to DOH, the cost to upgrade my seat was $1100 - a bit steep for me. However, the flight was overbooked by a few and I managed to get an op-up for free.
