Qantas 32 LHR-SIN Change A380 -> 747

Will take QF 32 from LHR to SIN on August 28. Was just informed that AC was changed from A380 to 747 - there goes my F suite .

As my return SIN-LHR on Sep 3 on QF 31 is (so far) still on the A380, what's the chance of that one being substituted by a 747?

Point taken.

Now, how do I edit a thread title?

A warm welcome from me, too (even so you are not flying to Australia). And to answer your question, you can not predict how likely an equipment change is. It might or might not happen. So we will all keep our fingers crossed for you.

Enjoy the flight anyway.

Is there an F suite on the 747? If not, could you claim the product is inferior to the one advertised and hence the one you booked?

The SQ A380 Suites surcharge is gone. And QF did have one for about 1-2 weeks or so after launch.

SQ still has a surcharge for A380 suites on some routes.

On the plus side the 747 crews are from a separate pool from the A380 cabin crew and often the 747 F service is superior to the A380 F service. It is still far better than LH F in-air which would be your alternative; and you chose not to fly SQ from Germany (or QF FRA-SIN for that matter). Equipment substitution will be frequent until the A380 deliveries resume.

I just received the same disappointing news regarding QF11 in August. What had been a 380 trip was rebooked as a 744 trip on QF107. It appears as though QF is substituting a 744 for the 380 and that it is being sold as a 2-cabin product. Hence, the change of aircraft and flight time in order to fly F.

Let's hope for more experienced crews on the 747 -thanks.

LH F is not really an alternative (extremely expensive to book w/ a German address) + there are no words that even begin to describe the difference in on board service on LH vs. BA/QF/SQ.

The reason I chose to route through LHR on QF to SIN was the A380. I was particularly looking forward to that flight because it is a mid-day departure with very good connex in SIN (to RGN).

At least I have the A380 on the return (still), but that's a 11:59 p.m. departure, where I intend to sleep through most of the flight...
