Minimum connection time at PER
Has the domestic to international MCT for PER changed recently?
The reason why I ask is... back in March, a friend booked SYD-PER-JNB flying QF583 connecting to SA281, which is a 1:25 connection. They booked through Zuji, which showed it as a valid connection... and I checked on KVS and it showed it as a valid connection. They even called both QF and SA just to confirm it was okay.
However, when they recently went to take the flight the QF check-in agent told them that it was a illegal connection. Fortunately, they arrived at the airport early and was put on an earlier flight to PER. And when I check on KVS now, it is no longer a valid connection.
So... was the MCT for PER changed sometime between March and June? It seems to currently be 90 minutes.
And what should have happened when the MCT was changed? Should QF have automatically rebooked my friend onto an earlier flight? I'm just wondering what would have happened if they had arrived at the airport a bit later and not been able to get the earlier PER flight.
