Question QF031 / 11 JUL 09 - Operating via KUL ?
Just looking at QF31 tonight.

Left SYD gate on time at 1625. Took off 25 minutes late at 1650.
There's a stop scheduled in KUL between 2300 and 2350 local time.
It is estimated to arrive in SIN 4 hours 20 minutes late at 0415 +1.

Any reason for this diversion to KUL ?

It doesn't look like a diversion -- it has been scheduled to operate with 2 stops on this date:

Well, that depends on your definition of "originally" -- from the data above, it was scheduled like that at some point before departure, so it would not be a diversion...

Info from another forums says that the diversion was due to weather in Singapore.

There was "severe weather" in Singapore. Diverted to KUL and then crew out of hours.

The satay in SIN is as good as the one in KUL. So the captain must have had some other reason....
