2-Class 747-400s - Premium Economy Update

New configuration will be 42J/16W/356Y (currently it's 56J/356Y).
Row 23 & 24 Skybeds will be removed and replaced with the new Premium Economy seating, resulting in a reduced number of J seats and availability.
Unsure about the exact rollout date for the first 2-Class 747-400, however I imagine it will be before 06JUL.
BNE-LAX-BNE in Premium Y is ~ $3100 in Septemeber (random dates).
Cheers

the map linked above would appear to be an interim view where the existing 2 rows of Skybeds are being sold as 14 x PE seats. When replaced with Y+ seats, I would expect it to change to 2x4x2 config making the 16W described.

Wouldn;t this be a 3 class 747 rather than 2 as referred to in the thread title?

If it is J being sold as W as it appears then technically isn't still a 2 class bird until W is fitted (if W is indeed fitted on the current 2 class birds and they are not the first to be retired and the current 4 class birds become 3 class).
Dave, while I am sure it is not your intention you can really come across as patronising in your posts. QF NB is generally a great source of information it would be a loss if he (?) and others stopped posting because they only get mauled by yourself in the process.

I think there is going to be an overlap when J seats are used for premium economy. I have been allocated 23F as an aisle seat on 11 July in premium economy from Melbourne to Hong Kong. F is not an aisle on a premium economy 2 4 2 configuration. Skybed for $650. Looks like a good outcome to me!

I'm looking at QF93 on July 10 which shows a 4 class 744 config with rows 36-39 in a 2-4-2 config but marked as economy? All seats show as blocked apart from the seat I have been allocated as per CMT - 39B. Is this economy seating or PE? If its PE I'm pretty happy as I'm only booked in Y.
