Seats selection help

It's anyone here please could give me tips for selection of seats and give me some advise to ask about good seats.

My flight detail is: QF129/QF130 from SYD-PVG return tickets.

Everytime I try to ask good seats but always been told is not available. have no idea how to ask it properly.

Thanks for help.

Do you mean SYD?

And when are you flying?

Yes, it's SYD-PVG. I am a Qantas Club member and after this saturday domestic travel will move to silver status.
From SYD-PVG-SYD will fly witheconomy class and travel date is:30-05-2009 and back on 31-05-2009.
And I am wondering should I request seat thourgh phone or just request it when I check in at airport on travel date.

Thanks for help

FYI - According to a number of QF phone operators most of the SALE fares recently offered as part of QFs response to declining demand for international travel are not eligible for allocation to "premium reserved/blocked seating" regardless of status.

I suppose that's what you get when you pay $1400 return to Europe.

Does any seat allocation show on www.qantas.com/your booking or, indeed, www.checkmytrip.com ?

Didn't show any seat allocation on my booking at qantas.com
But after search from Checkmytrip I found my seat is: 25J to PVG, and 26J back to SYD.

Pretty good seats for a 332.

I have looked at the experflyer seat map and you have a PAX in 25K on the outbound. COming back, 36K is still empty.

However, both flights are really lightly loaded - both showing E5 three weeks out.

If you are not into windows that much, would suggest moving to a D or G seat as it is less likly you will have someone beside you.

It seems KVS is not differentiating the premium unallocated seating from allocated seats.

Here's what Expert Flyer is showing:

QF129:

QF130:

is an unallocated "Premium/Blocked" seat.'
is an allocated seat.

Thanks for all the helps. Very appreciated that. It will be very helpful if can show me the unallocated map again just incase could ask for the seats.

And what you guys think should I made seat request now through the phone enquiry or ask when I check in at airport? Just want to find out best way to ask the seat.

It sure does (and also doesn't require one to tediously take screenshots for posting) :

Phone enquiry - Without a doubt! Of course that's if you wish to change seats.

Interesting that Apollo gives more detailed results than Amadeus. I find this strange given QF employ Amadeus.
