individual in-seat video screens for every passenger
Being QF though, I expect this will be a dodgy tape loop system, or maybe even just the one channel...

Flights to/from BOM will be codeshare on Jet Airways
Just did a quick weekly timetable query on the QF website for Sep/Oct time period
For SYD-BOM, the response was "There are no flights from Sydney to Mumbai. View our route map to see the Qantas network."
For BOM-SYD the response was QF3950 BOM-SIN connecting to QF32 SIN-SYD. (QF3950 is a codeshare on Jet Airways)

I imagine the system will be similar to the one on the A380, with perhaps not as many options. I believe NZ also have less options on their 767/A320. It certainly will be AVOD.

NZ 767/A320 AVOD has plenty of options (just a handful less than they have on 747/777) - more than enough for transtasman. Check out the Air NZ monthly avod listing in the Air NZ forum for details.

When NZ put the AVOD IFE on their 767 and A320 I definitely changed my travel to NZ if I could not get row 5 on the QF 734.

It is not just NZ however with DJ offering (paid) PTV on the majority of flights now. I just hope QF follow NZ's lead and offer the PTV gate to gate. I would swap to NZ but I am a slave to QF and too scared to go from WP on QF to 0 on NZ.

[KVS Availability Tool 3.3.4/Platinum - Amadeus: Timetable/NL-BCDF]
Looks like QF 25 (MEL-AKL) does indeed go to a 734 service. Presumably connecting to a 744 service AKL-LAX

Yeah, I had a booking on QF114 and it changed from a 763 to a 734. My 24B seat selection stayed the same though. By the time I checked it someone else had nabbed the prime 5C/D seats.
It's interesting there's an EQV on QF113; it seems there's a mix of 733/734 on that one, also QF132.

Don't know if they are even going to have the 744 out of AKL to LAX....a friend of mine at the airport indicated to me that they were moving that to an Airbus service Haven't been able to verify...so likely wrong...I hope he is...

Qantas media release said it was a 744
From 10 June, the Qantas Group will operate more than 140 trans-Tasman return services each week between Australia and Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown, as well as a daily B747-400 service between Auckland and Los Angeles. The new international schedule to/from New Zealand will include:
* improved timing of the daily Auckland-Los Angeles service to provide a connection to Qantas' daily New York service;
* Melbourne-Auckland services increasing from two to three flights per day, operated by B737 aircraft;
* Sydney-Auckland services increasing from four to five flights per day, operated by a mix of B767 and B737 aircraft; and
* the cancellation of weekend services between Brisbane and Wellington.

Thanks guys.
Some of us crew in AKL are actually a little excited by the new schedule. The timings of the flights actually force us to overnight in MEL and SYD. Some of the rest is quite generous.. With fresh crew who arent doing one there and back after the other, a bit of variety (aus overnights) and new planes (eventually) the service should be even better for you. ^

My upcoming SYD-AKL-SYD (in J) has changed to 734s both ways. Should I tweek the itinerary to target the 763 (acknowledging the obvious cabin seating differences) ?
