Really???
So what is the deal on QF Metals arriving in T4?
Which arrivals lounge do we use or there is NONE!
If that is the case I think I will revert back to BA10 to save the hassle!

yes I tried it a few times and it is MUCH better than the old one (one floor below) But the things I don't like:

1) The shower gel and shampoo are not Elemis and comes from one of those cheap hotel dispenser

2) Breakfast spread is really limited when compare to a FULL BREAKFAST at BA

3) No FREE SPA treatements (or any treatments at all). I know the Elemis ones are not as good. But when you pay so much for a ticket, I think I want to get the maximum value.

Agree - that the staff are nice.

i just find out the following on qf.com. This is complete BS! I am leaning more towards BA10 now unless QF have moved to T3.
Just wondering if I am really desperate for the Arrivals lounge, will they allow access if i make my own way there (T5)?

British Airways Arrivals Lounge has now closed. At this time an alternate arrivals lounge is unavailable for eligible customers travelling on Qantas. A full compliment of lounges will be available to our passengers when Qantas flights move from T4 to T3 in 2009.
Note: Qantas passengers travelling in First and Business and arriving at T4 on the following British Airways (BA/QF) codeshare flights will have access to the T5 Galleries Arrivals Lounge:
- BA10/QF301 Sydney/Bangkok to London Heathrow
- BA16/QF319 Sydney/Singapore to London Heathrow
- BA12/QF3345 Singapore to London Heathrow
- BA7311 Sydney/Bangkok to London Heathrow
- BA7371 Sydney/Singapore to London Heathrow
- BA7309 Melbourne/Singapore to London Heathrow

I think the single best part of the AA product are the lounge staff who are generally very friendly across their network.

I think QF has stated that LHR will not be getting the new F lounge (just as BKK and SIN did not get the SYD/MEL lounges). BA is building the same style J lounge as at T5. What a clever split by BA/QF: BA Golds cannot get into the QF F lounge when not flying OW, and WPs cannot get into the BA J lounge. Whereas both would get in if the F/J lounge split were reversed! What a coincidence. How many hours went into this decision?

If one clicks the little blue "view post" icon it will bring it up.

Then you would see the post was made in late July last year, so 08-09 is "the" winter - this "alter in the winter" T1-T3 move has recently been postponed another 4 weeks - until 25th February.

In any case, it has already been pointed out in this thread the move from T4 to T3 will not happen until after October this year which, I guess, is indicative of the knock on effect ...

So just to CONFIRM.

From now till October this year, if you travel to LHR on QF, you will have NO ARRIVALS lounge access? What about if you book on the BA code?

"Qantas passengers" travelling the Kanagroo route in J or F get access if on BA flight number or BA metal. Those on QF flight number and Metal are SOL

"Qantas" WHY(/+) PAX on QF flight number and Metal are SOL (irrespective of Status).

thanks. So if I book BA 7371 (which is QF31) in D Class then I can have access to the arrivals lounge? But if I book it under QF31 then I won't get access? So the only disadvantagaein using BA7371 is that I can't MFU?

I would suggest checking with BA on the lounge access on arrival if it is that important a concern for the booking

Given Qantas are publishing this access (http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying...rportGuide/lhr) on their web site and BA similar (http://www.britishairways.com/travel...s/public/en_gb) I'm rather confident:

If you are flying British Airways First or Club World, or are a Gold Executive Club member arriving on a flight into London Heathrow Terminal 4, we are pleased to invite you to make use of our new Galleries Arrivals Lounge in Terminal 5.

When you have cleared Baggage Reclaim and Customs, please make your way to the BAA Information point on the Arrivals level. Representatives from our ground transport team will be on hand to escort you to our dedicated transfer coach.

When you enter Terminal 5 please take the lift or the escalator closest to Check-in Zone G to Level 1, where you will find our new Galleries Arrivals Lounge
Of course "Flying British Airways" would mean travel on either a BA flight number or on a BA operated aircraft for this to be the case. (Given the JSA based access to the old T4 arrivals lounge, I believe this is the case.)

I'm very shortly transferring off a BA flight (T5) with a fairly long transit time and then onto a QF flight in F.

Hoping I will be able to use the BA CCR for an hour or two rather than make my way over to the T4 lounge mess.

I will report back and let you know what happened.

But how can u get into T5 Departures? Since your flight is departing from T4?

However I don't know whether the FCC actually checks the boarding card before letting people through the security (as I recall last time they didn't check when I try to get from T4 to T5?

As far as I know, you cannot access the T5 departure lounge if you are flying out of T4, even if you are flying into T5.

You cannot use the Concorde Room since you are not departing from Terminal 5; you need to use the lounge in the terminal from which you are departing
