BPAY paying for flight
Took advantage of the current sale fares PER-SYD, paid by BPAY for the 1st time ever.
Concerned that i have had no confirmation from Qantas. Paid yesterday, have a booking reference but the screen says "Payment must be made by midnight Sunday 07 December 2008". Money has left my account
Check my trip says economy confirmed.
Do I have a reservation?

You do have a confirmed reservation, they normally wait about 3 days or so before they cancel it, by that time your BPay payment should have hit the booking, and you willbe fine.

Yes, you have a reservation. You'll receive your E-ticket confirmation in a separate email usually between 24 and 48 hours after making the booking. It takes your payment about a day to transfer to Qantas, even if your bank says the funds have left your account, but having paid for many flights with BPay, I have always received my E-ticket confirmation within 48 hours.

Despite what the Qantas website says (payment required THAT night), I have never had a problem with BPAY.
The payment seems to take 2 days but I've not lost a booking yet.
Give it another day before worrying.

Bpay payments seem to clear overnight where it has been put into the bank's system before 4pm/5pm/6pm/8pm etc (depending on the bank).
Qantas doesn't care when you put the payment through - just that they receive the money within X days.
The receipt will turn up soon. If not, then Reservations can assist with working out what has happened.

BPAY over weekend
Just booked a flight and wanted to pay by BPAY. However, being a Friday night, I don't think my bank will process this prior to Monday morning. So QF would probably not get the money until Tuesday (4 days from now). Has anyone booked a flight by BPAY on Friday night and still had their booking by Tuesday?

You can pay for your online booking using BPAY for e-ticket bookings from Australia made at least 7 days before departure.
So I would not be too concerned.
Interesting to note that at less than 7 days Qantas offer both Credit card (with CC fee) and M/C Debit Card (no Fee) options.
