Does anyone know the QF Flight Numbers for HKG-SIN & HKG-BKK?

Hi,

I used to fly these on a regular basis and kept details of all the trips except the flight numbers.

Does anyone either know, or know where to find, the flight numbers for these now defunct flights:

QF HKG-BKK (I believe the entire route was BNE (or MEL)-HKG-BKK

QF HKG-SIN (Was HKG-SIN-PER)

Always good flights and the BKK-HKG flight was usually good for a cockpit landing at Kai Tak in the good old days.

Any information most appreciated as spent a long time on the internet going nowhere.

Regards,

Nicc

From a 1999 Qantas "Worldwide" timetable:
  • QF77 PER-SIN-HKG,
  • QF78 HKG-SIN-PER

Can't help with BKK ...

"Worldwide" is about as exaggerated as UA are with their "Global Service" status level.

Is that the Global or the Service bit?

I've got all the Qantas paper timetables from Nov 1985 up until they stop printing them - can you give me a rough idea what year you flew that route and I'll have a look for you.

Cheers

I flew MEL-HKG-BKK back in 1996, fairly sure it was single flight number, and the number that jumps into my head is QF87. By no means certain of that, but may have an itinerary somewhere at home. Will look on the w/end (currently not home) and see if I can dig something up.

Edit: On reflection, it may also have been QF187

Looking through for most of the 1990's this flight was operated by either QF 85 or QF 77, depending on the day of the week.

Cheers

To my surprise I did find the itinerary and it was QF87 MEL-HKG-BKK, operated by a 763. It was in June 1996.

Sorry for the delay, but I have finally managed to extract my flight information from my trusty handwritten log in order to offer some more data points:-

16.04.93 BKK HKG QF78
07.01.95 HKG BKK QF77
30.03.97 BKK HKG QF78
05.04.97 HKG BKK QF77
28.06.97 BKK HKG QF78
03.07.97 HKG BKK QF77
21.01.98 HKG BKK QF85
04.07.98 SIN HKG QF77

Those of a geeky bent will quickly spot the significance of the last flight in the list. Quite fitting, therefore, that it should also have been the last time that I did one of these intra-Asia flights. The JSA has since taken better care of that need.
