The "plunge jet" - seat belts broke apart
Is it possible that their (2 people?) seatbelts broke apart as written in following article...?

Same story in the SMH:

I find it very hard to believe that if their seatbelts had been done up properly, they would have "broken apart". The ATSB will, no doubt, have something useful to say about this.

Mystery messages caused Qantas plunge
A little bit more is starting to come out http://www.news.com.au/travel/story/...014090,00.html
"A preliminary report by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau said the aircraft's black box – known as the air data inertial reference system (ADIRU) – produced spurious message signals causing the aircraft to dive suddenly.
However, the bureau is unable to pinpoint the direct cause of the interference".

Food theft
There goes a F meal: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...19/2423495.htm
Its kind of more substantial that seeing a FA from a certain Dash8 flight on Monday into SYD handing the bus driver and baggage handler a "light refreshment" cake that was left over in the galley. It may have been better for this FA not to pass on the goodies in full view of the SLF in the bus!
